Boys Fingerless Gloves

I made these fingerless gloves for my son with my pokeball applique pattern because he wants to have fingerless gloves like the main character Ash on Pokemon, but keeps putting on regular gloves - in the 30 degree celsius weather we've been having!
The pattern is simple and they're made all in one piece. You can find the Applique pattern here:

Fingerless Gloves

Materials:
Yarn of choice - a regular 50g ball is enough
Crochet hook size I/9
Yarn needle if you want to put on the applique

Pattern

Chain 20. Join with a slip stitch. Chain 3.

Round 1: Double crochet in each stitch around. Slip stitch to join.

Round 2 - 4: Chain 3. * Back-post Double Crochet in next stitch, Front-post double crochet in next stitch* Repeat from * to * all around. slip stitch to join. Repeat for 2 more rounds.

Round 5 - 6: Chain 3. Double-crochet in each stitch around, slip stitch to join. Repeat for one more round.

Round 7: Chain 3. Double crochet in next 4 stitches, chain 4, skip next 4 stitches, double crochet in remaining stitches. Slip stitch to join.

Round 8: Chain 3. Double crochet in each stitch and chain around. Slip stitch to join.

Round 9: Chain 3, Double-crochet in back loops only of all stitches in next round. Slip stitch to join.
Fasten off! Make second one.

Now you can make the pokeball applique if you wish and sew it on with thread.
