If you've got little ones who have yet to be potty trained, here is a giveaway for you!!
This review/giveaway is done by Kathy's Freebies & Savings
Oh the joys of potty training! I have two daughters ages 1 and 3. My 3 year old is already potty trained but i'm in the process of potty training my 1 year old right now. She's doing so great for how young she is, I am just so proud of her. Those of you that have been through potty training know how hard it can be. I've had times where they go on the potty and it gets all over the seat. I'ts not always easy dumping it out either. I'm so excited to have the chance to review the Pourty. This potty is my new favorite potty for my girls, and they love it too!
Once I got the Pourty I opened up the box right away and what do you know, my kids have to go to the bathroom already! I set the Pourty down for my older daughter and she used the potty. About a half hour later my youngest daughter wanted to try it out too. I'm proud to say she used the potty! Both of my daughters really love their new potty. The best thing about this potty is that it pours out the back. This is so easy and doesn't make a mess. My three year old daughter loves to pour it out into the toilet. She has had times where she makes a mess when she pours it out. But, with this potty I don't see that happening every. I have taught her how to pour it out of the new Pourty and she did a great job. I'm very proud of her.
The Pourty won Best New Product to Market 2010/11. It has a wider seating area, which really works well with my kids. Sometimes my youngest would pee all over the seat, but not with this potty. The potty also has a high splash guard and a deep bowl. This really helps so that pee doesn't leak all over. It has a really nice pouring duct in the back so that you can dump it out easily. This has really helped with my child. Like I mentioned earlier, my oldest daughter loves to dump it out on her own. With the pouring duct, she won't make a mess.
Want to order one? Check them out HERE for many places to order one. They come in colors of pink, blue, white, and purple. They range in prices depending on where you order, but they cost about $15.
Would you like the chance to win one of these Pourty potties? Well, they have offered to give one of my fans a potty! Just fill out the rafflecopter below to enter to win a Pourty.

#Homeschool / #Kids: #Sony #Wonderbook
The E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) conference (the big video game conference of the year where new consoles and games are announced) is like the superbowl at my house!
For three days my husband and son are in another world! And I must admit, I get into it too! With all the great new games and family-centered consoles coming out, it's fun to see what will be available in a few months for them (and ok, me!)
This year I got really excited about this new one from Sony - the wonderbook!
They are starting it out with an awesome book of spells from Harry Potter (which my son loves!) and showed this preview as well, and I wanted to share it with you all!
The Playstation console's camera basically records you with a special book and shows you on your tv with your book coming to life! Can`t wait for this!!
Below are some videos I found on youtube (there are tons more too if you search!)

Homeschool/Kids: Our Summer
Well, we have officially finished our school for the year, but .... not really!
While we call this next few weeks 'summer vacation', we never really completely STOP doing school! And that's the wonderful thing about homeschooling - you never stop doing school!
Every day brings a new learning experience whether it's a moral one, or learning fractions from baking - there's always something for the kids, and parents(!) to learn!
Last week, my son and I sat down together and made a list of all we'd like to accomplish this summer - one for us together with his sister too, (though she's only 10 months old, so didn't have much list input, except 'dog' and 'lalala mama dadada', which I take to mean (being a proud mother and all) that she'd like to spend more time with her family, and learn to be nicer to our family dog, Snowflake, whom she loves to pull and squeeze!).
So our list began! I also made my own list, things that need to get done (we have a newly built house so there's a LOT to do!), and things I want to do (but I know will probably mostly get put on the backburner anyhow!).
So I have decided to share with you this week what we plan to do exactly with the kiddos!
Here are our plans for us together!
Play the ukulele!
My mother-in-law recently passed on an actual ukulele to my son, and while he has been strumming on it lie any kid would, I thought it'd actually be fun to learn to play one simple song correctly by summers end! We love to dance and sing around our kitchen everyday, and it'd be great to play something ourselves! So I have recruited youtube to be our teacher, and hopefully we can actually do it! If not, at least we'll have fun trying!!
Grow our own food!
So it is the very first time we have a yard as a family (before buying our house we lived in a tiny apartment!) and so the perfect opportunity to do something I've wanted to do for a long time - garden! We started these plants some time ago, and I have no clue what will grow and what will not, but it'll be fun to find out, and learn how to do better next year! So far strawberry, herb, peppers, tomato, and daisy plants have begun to sprout! We have not had our grass put down yet, but are supposed to next week ( our yard is a garden of weeds right now!) so then the transplants will begin!! dun dun dunn!! I'll keep posted how it goes!
Walk everyday! And exercise!
Although this is not my favorite (even though I use to be a complete workout enthusiast!), we got lazy living in our apartment, I gained weight, and my son stopped running around all over the place! But we live in a nice country/suburban area now, with a beautiful little creek and path behind our house, so I decided for us that we should try to walk after every meal, even is just for 10 minutes to our mailbox down the road (although we are starting to love our long morning walks!), and do some small strength exercises like push ups, crunches, and all those things you hated to do in gym class! It's easy to skip gym as a homeschooler but it's important! A good example for K (my daughter, 10 months), and important for M (9 years old) who is making the preteen transition! And of course, good for mommy who needs to be healthy to take care of said (and perhaps future) children!
Learn new chores
My littlest one, K (10 months) loves to help me clean - I give her a little cloth, and she scrubs with me, and attempts to use the broom by sliding it across the floor, spreading dust everywhere, but thats fine! My son (9 years) is a great helper too - although we need to work on him being able to do chores without being reminded! But still, he helps me a lot!! I have decided though, since he is turning 10 this year, and is able bodied (although I think he would like us to believe otherwise! hehe) to teach him some more things, things that fall behind a lot and I could use some extra hands with - laundry folding, washing things that do not go in the dishwasher, and some simple cooking skills as well (always supervised of course!!) I think this will be great life experience for him, as he grows more independent (cue mommy tears!) and will help me feel a little less buried in housework (especially transitioning from cleaning a 2 bedroom apartment, to a three level house!)
Artsy stuff
One thing that has seriously lacked in our schooltime is art! It just seems to fall below the piles of books and papers we read and write daily! So summer is the perfect opportunity to do some catching up in this area! Fine painting skills for my son, fingerpainting for the little girl, coloring, and some other activities will eep us busy, as well as....
Scrapbooking!
I have wanted to do this for forever with my family, but haven't had the chance, but having just had our family vacation, it is the perfect opportunity!
Read, Read, Read!
Although we've already read a ton of books for school this year, there's still more we wanted to read but just didn't have time to finish!
Karting Skills!
Okay so this one may not seem so important, but to us, it is! My son and I are serious Mario Kart addicts and love to have a race when we can! Competing in online tournaments is always fun and we intend to beat our current ranks!!
So those are my plans with the kids for the summer! What are yours?
