I must admit, ghost stories and stories of the underworld are not my usual picks in books. So I was intrigued when given a copy of Thorne Manor and Other Bizarre Tales to review - a story of ghosts, spirits, and more!
I wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by the first story - Thorne Manor. Heather, the main character of this story, thinks she has found the perfect home for herself, and her dream business! Having just left an abusive relationship, she is feeling stronger than ever, and wants to follow her hearts desire of opening her own business, and owning a home.
But stories around town are that the beautiful gothic-style mansion is haunted, full of a horrible history of torture and murders.
But Heather does not let this deter her! getting right down to business she immediately starts to renovate. But upon closer inspection she realizes that the stories may not just be stories!
Sightings from the help she hired may prove them to be true! But is that really such a bad thing?

The other tales in this book are shorter, but still good reads.

I picked this book up at the library, thinking it was a fun looking novel - the kind I love to lay down and read to clear my head! I'm glad I did too because I had a hard time putting it down!
The book is all about Natalie Raglan - a small town girl from Bath, who wants to be a big-city girl in London.
After breaking up with her loser-ish hometown boyfriend Pete, Natalie decides it's time for a change and takes a huge leap, something she's not sure she even wants to do! She moves to the big city - London.
As if leaving home wasn't difficult enough, Natalie's got a stressful new job at a boutique selling clothes to the ultra-wealthy for a hellish boss, friends she's not sure even really like her too much, and absolutely nothing in her apartment.
But things turn around when she discovers an interesting looking letter to the previous tenant of her apartment - Cressida Langton.
All of a sudden Natalie is thrown into a life of lies and deceit!
Taking over as Cressida, Natalie starts dating an investment banker, giving reiki therapy sessions, and before she knows it, she's in way over her head! Lying to even her best friend, Natalie has to decide to come clean eventually....right?
I really enjoyed this book and loved the main character Natalie - she's hilarious (or rather, author Gemma Townley is!)! I actually found myself laughing out loud a few times, and loved her way of getting herself into sticky situations, but not being able to let go!
I recommend this book for a good laugh, and a relaxing, clear-your-mind read!

I loved the Yellow Corn Poptillas they are light and crunchy. I paired them with a pinwheel wrap. Perfect lunch on a hot day. My son loved the Nacho Cheese Poptillas just as a snack.
