Book Review: Just For Fun by Rosalind James

Synopsis
What if the person who broke your heart turned out to be the only one who could mend it?

Nic Wilkinson is a responsible, organized, disciplined rugby player at the top of his game. Emma Martens is a sometimes-scattered, often-emotional, and always-broke would-be designer with a big chip on her shoulder where Nic's concerned.

They have no history together, except one perfect week. Nothing in common anymore, except the most important thing of all.
Getting together again would be messy. Complicated. Scary. And, just maybe, worth every risk.

My Review
There's nothing I love more than a good 'beach read' romance and this is exactly what I expected of this novel - but got a pleasant surprise!
Not only was it a sweet, and steamy at times, romance, but it was quite an informative read too!
The lead male character, Nic, is a rugby player and the book often follows him to his games, explaining everything about them ! I found this to be very interesting considering I know absolutely nothing about rugby (or many sports, really!) and it's neat to know that if I ever somehow find myself observing a rugby match somehow, I'll have some sort of clue as to what is going on! lol
But the story itself was wonderful !
The female main character, Emma, was really well written. I laughed quite a few times while reading, and liked her as a character generally.

Overall I would absolutely recommend this as a fun and relaxing read - something to bring to the beach in summer or - as I did - snuggle up with in the winter!

  1. I'm glad you enjoyed it, Debbie Jean! If you want to see what they look like doing the haka before All Blacks games, there's a link to a video on my homepage at www.rosalindjames.com. Testosterone overload!

  4. We spend from April (end of April) through the middle of October camping and on the beach. We are feeling quite withdrawn at the moment. This review makes me miss it even more.

  5. Just the fact that it describes rugby makes it sound interesting to me since I don't know much about rugby.
