My daughter is 18 months old and loves to help me with housework! Whether it's handing me the clothes from the dryer, putting away the spoons from the dishwasher, sweeping the floor, or putting away grocery it seems she's always at my feet being mom's little helper :) Something I cherish!
So when I'm scrubbing our pots and pans she loves to take a heaping pile of bubbles off the top and go and 'wash' her own toys, some utensils, or put them in her own play kitchen and wash her own little dishes.
This activity is super simple, but I guarantee your toddler will love it!
What You'll Need
- A container, bowl, anything unbreakable and safe that will hold bubbles
- Dish soap
What To Do
- Fill your sink or a separate bowl up with dish soap and water, making a large pile of foaming bubbles (like in the picture above.
- Taking only the bubble foam (no water), put them in a separate bowl for your little one and let them go wild!
- I often have to give a bubble refill quite a few times before this activity is done so be prepared to do so quite a few times! Your little one will have a blast!! :)
- Here's a song we love to sing together while doing this activity, just sing it along in any melody you like or say it as a poem :)
Popping Bubbles Song
Popping bubbles
Pop, pop, pop!
Pop 'em up high
Pop, pop, pop
Pop 'em down low
Pop, pop, pop
Pop 'em real slow
Pop...pop...pop
Pop 'em fast too!
Pop, pop, pop!
Pop bubbles with you!
Tips
- Be ready to change wet clothes! And mop up wet floors :)
- Remember to never leave your little one unattended. Even a small amount of liquid can be unsafe for your toddler!
Kids can play with bubbles for HOURS on end. It is so cute. Athena
